Lehighton State Police — Thefts

State police at Lehighton are investigating the following incidents:

• U.S. Bank N.A. is the victim in a burglary that happened between July 25 and 27 in Polk Township.

Police said someone entered a home where the bank is pursuing foreclosure action and stole carpeting worth $400.

The home is located in the 100 block of Huntington Road.

• An access device fraud case was reported in Eldred Township.

The 41-year-old resident told police someone used her bank card information to make unauthorized purchases between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. July 20. The incident happened along Steep Hill Lane in the township.

• A vehicle tow dolly worth $3,800 was reported stolen on Aug. 2.

Police said the theft happened between midnight and 5 a.m. in the 6800 block of Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

The victim is U-Haul International.

• Police are investigating the theft of a Pennsylvania registration plate in East Penn Township.

Police said there is a known suspect in the incident that happened in the 100 block of Twelf Acre Lane in the township on Aug. 17, 2017.

• Assorted tools valued at $500 were stolen from a motor vehicle between July 30 and Aug. 3 in the 1100 block of Interchange Road, Polk Township.

The victim reported $1,400 in damages to the vehicle, including $600 to the front windshield and $800 to the vehicle’s ignition switch.

• A Lehighton woman is the victim of a theft by deception case involving an ATM machine.

The East Penn Township resident reported at noon July 25 that someone obtained her credit card information and used it to withdraw money from an ATM machine in New Jersey.

• A Slatington resident reported the theft occurred in the 3900 block of Fireline Road, Lower Township, when someone opened a PPL account in his name. The resident reported he was just made aware of the incident via a recent credit report that showed charges of $758.
