State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers:
On Jan. 28 around 9:30 p.m., troopers responded to the area of 709 Lincoln Ave., Bowmanstown, for an incident. On scene troopers noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the unlit parking lot of a local business. An investigation led to the arrest of the front seat passenger, a 25-year-old man from Allentown, on drug charges. Police declined to name the suspect.
A 23-year-old man from Brodheadsville is facing a driving under the influence charge following a traffic stop at 10:17 p.m. on Jan. 30 along Route 209 in Polk Township, Monroe County. During the stop officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The suspect admitted using marijuana before driving. He was placed under arrest for DUI of a controlled substance and taken to the county DUI center for a blood test. Troopers declined to name the defendant.
A 24-year-old man from Kunkletown is facing a DUI of a controlled substance charge following a traffic stop on Thursday at 10:48 a.m. along Route 209 and Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said the suspect, who they declined to name, also had drug paraphernalia in his possession.
A 36-year-old woman from Walnutport is facing a DUI of a controlled substance charge following a vehicle stop on Thursday at 9:26 a.m. along Long Mountain Road at Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township. She was taken to the DUI center for a blood test. Troopers decline to name the suspect.
A Monroe County man has been cited for harassment as a result of a domestic dispute.
State police at Lehighton said Peter Barna, 40, and a 33-year-old woman, both of Weingartner Road, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, were involved in a domestic dispute which resulted in Barna being cited. The incident occurred about 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
A 57-year-old Jim Thorpe man was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol on Wednesday at 5:54 p.m. along Route 248, between Palmerton and Bowmanstown. Police decline to name the defendant.
A male juvenile was cited for trespassing on Sunday in the 200 block of Upper Greenhill Road in Polk Township, Monroe County. The suspect entered a garage. No items were reported taken.
A 50-year-old man from North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, has been cited for theft. A 56-year-old man from East Penn Township, Carbon County, reported an engine and transmission were stolen from his property sometime between Sept. 20, 2017 and Jan. 11. A search warrant was served on the defendant’s property leading to the arrest. Police declined to name the defendant.
