Lehighton state police
Lehighton state police reported on the following incidents:
• A large amount of money was taken in a Monroe County burglary. State police said a home in the 300 block of Wilkes-Barre Turnpike in Ross Township was entered sometime between June 30 at 5:40 p.m. and July 1 at 12:06 a.m. Removed from the home were two safes which contained the money. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 610-691-1850.
• Two people were issued citations for harassment after state police were summoned at 10 p.m. July 5 to the 2000 block of Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township. Police said Amy Beers, 37, of Blakeslee, and Coy Cook, 26, of Palmerton, were cited. Police said a verbal altercation took place after which time Beers pushed a 26-year-old Palmerton woman, resulting in Cook then pushing Beers.
• A Palmerton man reported an incident of harassment to police at 7:30 p.m. July 8 in the 100 block of White Oak Road in Towamensing Township. Police said the man, 34, related he and a 35-year-old woman from Lehighton were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Charges will be filed against the woman.
• State police are investigating a criminal mischief and simple trespass case that happened at 10:15 p.m. July 9 in East Penn Township. The victims are a 59-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman from Lehighton. Police said someone was ringing their doorbell and then drove their vehicle through the front yard of the property on Summer Mountain Road.
