Lehighton state police investigate thefts
State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating the following theft incidents:
• A license plate was stolen from a 2001 Saturn in Penn Forest Township. The victim, an 18-year-old man from the 100 block of Quail Drive, Jim Thorpe, reported at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 14 that someone stole the plate, No. KJA 3995.
• The president of a local business from Saylorsburg reported a theft to police, who later discovered an employee of the business was the one who stole the money. The theft occurred between July 1 and Nov. 26, police said. The business is located along Anchorage Road in Ross Township.
• The theft of flower pots worth $100 from a property in the area of Avenue B and Marshall Avenue in Lower Towamensing Township is being investigated. A 71-year-old female victim reported the theft at 6:15 p.m. Friday, and said the theft happened between midnight Dec. 2 and 11:59 p.m. Dec. 8. There are no suspects.
• Police are investigating the theft of Christmas presents from under a tree at a residence in Ross Township. The victims, a 26-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman of the 200 block of Birchwood Park, Ross Township, Saylorsburg, reported their home was entered between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 14, when the intruder stole multiple wrapped gifts from under the Christmas tree.
