Lehighton state police report on investigations

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating the following incidents:

• A theft of services case was reported at 12:46 p.m. Aug. 12. It happened at the Penn Forest Plaza, 1583 Route 903, and involved a 2011 Toyota van.

• State police are investigating the theft of a PA registration plate valued at $50 in Towamensing Township. The incident was reported at 5:34 p.m. Aug. 8 in the 200 block of Sei Pike Lane in the township.

• Felicia Reinhart, 60, of Effort, was cited for not confining her dogs to her property. The incident happened at 3:54 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 200 block of Squirrelwood Court, Polk Township.

• A 63-year-old Jim Thorpe woman is the victim of an access device fraud case in which $725 was stolen from her bank account. The theft was reported to state police at 11:11 a.m. Aug. 16. The victim lives in the unit block of Hemlock Drive, Penn Forest Township. Police did not provide any other details about the incident.

• State police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that happened between Aug. 15-16 at a residence in Bowmanstown. The victim is a 74-year-old man, who reported someone damaged the front door of his home at East Lizard Creek Road and Lincoln Avenue. Police said a glass in the door was shattered, causing an estimated $100 in damages.

• Items stolen from a Polk Township woman were recovered and returned to the victim, state police at the Lehighton barracks reported. A generator and weed whacker were reported missing at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 16 from a barn on property in the 900 block of hell Hollow Road, Kunkletown. No charges were filed.

• A Kunkletown woman reported at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 the keys to her 2008 Yukon were missing or stolen, only to have them found in a grassy area adjacent to her residence in the unit block of Country View Lane in Eldred Township.

• Kaitlyn Haycock, 24, of Palmerton, was cited for harassment by state police at the Lehighton barracks after an incident at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 18 at 3516 Winding Way, Polk Township. Police said they responded to the disturbance and found Haycock and Ashley Schmieding, 28, of Kunkletown, who admitted to physically assaulting each other. No one was injured.

• A Lehighton man had $495 stolen from his bank account when someone stole his debit card number and used it in Ohio. The victim reported at 12:23 p.m. Aug. 19 that someone made withdrawals of $1 and $494 from his account the previous day. The debit card numbers were utilized at a Pilot Gas Station in Austintown, Ohio.

• State police responded to a domestic dispute at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 17, resulting in two people being issued citations for harassment. The incident happened along West King’s Way, Polk Township. Cited were a 42-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Kunkletown.
