Lisa M. Kleppinger, 36, of Lehighton, sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 6:13 p.m. Dec. 18 at the intersection of Interchange Road and Wagner Street in Lehighton, according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said Kleppinger was driving a 2005 Pontiac Montana east on Wagner Street when she stopped for a stop sign, then proceeded to cross four lanes of Interchange Road in an attempt to travel onto Rock Street. The vehicle proceeded without clearance and was struck by a 2002 Honda CRV operated by Patrick E. Bechtel, 34, of Slatington, which was northbound on Route 209 at the time. Bechtel’s front bumper hit Kleppinger’s passenger side.

Kleppinger was transported via Lehighton Ambulance with minor injuries.

Neither Bechtel nor a 17-year-old boy who was a passenger with Kleppinger were injured.

Kleppinger was cited for failure to obey a stop/yield sign.

Franklin Township Fire Police and Schlier’s Towing personnel also assisted at the scene.
