Lehighton woman struck in front of Dollar General
A Lehighton woman was injured after she was struck in front of the Dollar General Store.
Borough police said the incident occurred at 6:14 p.m. Jan. 25 when a 2018 Subaru Forester operated by John Conlin, 63, of Hazleton, was traveling on North First Street and struck a pedestrian, Megan Labyack, 29, of the 300 block of Bass Pike, in the middle of the travel lane.
A witness said Labyack stepped out into traffic and was not inside a marked crosswalk.
She was also wearing dark-colored clothing.
A street light over Labyack’s head was not working.
Labyack was transported to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest with unknown injuries.
No citations were issued.
