Light post change snarls Tamaqua traffic

  • Empty

Traffic in Tamaqua was a bit more snarled than usual this Wednesday as workers from Kuharchik Construction replaced a decorative light standard at the south east corner of the Five Points intersection. The pole was hit by a tractor trailer on Aug. 15, 2018. Borough officials waited until the truck driver’s insurance company paid the claim in January before ordering the specially made pole. The 100 block of East Broad Street was closed to traffic for about three hours. Total cost of the replacement project was $38,587. KATHY KUNKEL/TIMES NEWS
