Light snow Tuesday, cold temperatures to hit the area this week

Light snow is expected to mix with rain Tuesday before temperatures dip into the teens.

Here’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Veterans Day: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Light and variable wind.

Tonight: Showers likely, mainly between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m., then rain after 4 a.m. Low around 31. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Rain and snow before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of snow between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Temperature falling to around 29 by 5 p.m. Northwest wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A chance of flurries. Partly cloudy, with a low around 14. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph.

Wednesday: A chance of flurries. Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. Northwest wind 8 to 13 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 23.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.
