Chloe Jones, a third-grade student at Tamaqua Elementary School, is the 2018 Little Miss Spirit of Christmas in Tamaqua.

She was chosen out of seven girls to participate in various activities during this year’s Spirit of Christmas festival, which runs Wednesday through Sunday. All candidates will participate in the Tamaqua Santa Parade at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Chloe wrote in her short essay on “What the Spirit of Christmas Means to Me,” “Christmas is special because my family comes to my house and I love them so much.”

Jones was crowned Little Miss Spirit over the weekend by Judy Hoppes, chairwoman of the contest.
