Palmerton and Marian both suffered walk-off losses in baseball action Saturday.

Nativity rallied for a win against the Blue Bombers, while Notre Dame of Green Pond went extra innings to down the Colts.

BASEBALL

Palmerton-Nativity

Nativity mounted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh frame to defeat Palmerton 4-3 in a non-league contest.

Matt Cromyak hit a walk-off single for the Hilltoppers, while Jake Cuperavage had two hits and a run scored.

For the Blue Bombers (6-4), Blake Eitner had two hits and knocked in a pair of runs. Ryan King also finished with two hits. Palmerton starter Zach Silfies pitched six innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out six.

Marian-Notre Dame GP

Notre Dame gained a walk-off win against Marian, pushing across an eighth-inning run to earn a 4-3 victory.

The Crusaders, who trailed 3-0 early in the contest, received three hits and two RBIs from Collin Quintano, while Richard Mueller also had three hits.

Matt Minchhoff finished with two hits for the Colts (4-2), who also received a double and two RBIs from Matt Doherty.

Nazareth-Pleasant Valley

Nazareth’s Jake Wilson and Ben Pinel combined to pitch a five-hit shutout as the Blue Eagles posted a 6-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

Damon DeJesus had three hits, one a double, for the winners. DeJesus also scored a run and knocked in one.

The Bears (7-2) received a pair of hits from Brandon Ratti, while Dan McEvoy added a double.

SOFTBALL

Notre Dame GP-Marian

Notre Dame built an early lead and held on for a 7-4 non-league victory over Marian.

Bridget Shields led the winners with three hits and two RBIs, while Caitlin Frederick finished with two hits, one a triple.

For the Fillies (4-3), Mia Nemeth had two hits — one a double — and two RBIs, while Athena Matenkoski added two hits, an RBI, and a run scored. Emily Shaud also contributed two hits and a run.

Nazareth-Pleasant Valley

Nazareth cruised to a 10-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

The Blue Eagles’ Samantha Gorkos finished with a three-hitter, striking out 10. Gorkos received offensive support from Daphney Adams, who drilled a home run and finished with two hits and three RBIs.

Pleasant Valley (4-5) was paced by Lauren Steckel’s two hits.

BOYS TENNIS

Jim Thorpe-Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain posted a 5-0 victory over Jim Thorpe.

The Olympians’ Raymond O’Neil battled to tiebreakers in both sets of his loss at No. 1 singles, while Connor Rodgers narrowly lost a third-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles.
