Pleasant Valley posted victories in softball and girls lacrosse action on Monday.

BASEBALL

Marian-Lehighton

A four-run seventh inning helped Marian rally for a 9-6 non-league win over Lehighton.

Mike Minchhoff paced the Colts with a double, triple and three runs scored. Hunter Fristick finished with two singles, a double, a run scored and an RBI, while Matt Doherty chipped in with two singles, a run scored and an RBI.

The Indians, who stormed back from a 5-1 deficit with a five-run fifth inning, were led by Mike Bozilesky (single, double, run scored, three RBIs). Zach Crum added two singles, a run scored and an RBI.

Palmerton ran away with a 13-0 Colonial League victory over Northern Lehigh.

Emily Baumgardt led the Bombers with two hits, four runs and four RBIs. Megan Serfass added three hits, including a double, while Paige Shupp blasted a three-run homer.

Lauren Hoffman and Brianna Schuck accounted for the Bulldogs’ two hits.

Palmerton improves to 9-1 overall (7-1 CL), while Northern Lehigh slips to 4-5 overall (3-5 CL).

C. Catholic-Pleasant Vy.

A seven-run opening inning helped propel Pleasant Valley to a 14-4 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Allentown Central Catholic.

The Bears’ Janelle Frable was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. In addition to earning the win on the mound, Frable finished with a single, double, triple and three RBIs.

Tyler Woltal (two singles, two runs scored, RBI), Madison Rosenberg (two singles, three runs, two RBI) and Riley Wagner two singles, a run, three RBIs) all contributed to the PV win.

Lehighton-Pine Grove

In completion of a game suspended last Friday, Pine Grove didn’t take long to finish off Lehighton for an 11-1 Schuylkill League win.

Becky Serfass led the Indians with a single, double and a run. Kate Nanovic had the only other Lehighton hit, while Alexis Scott contributed an RBI.

Northern Lehigh was swept by Notre Dame and Saucon Valley in a Colonial League tri-meet.

The Bulldog boys received a pair of firsts from Zach Moyer (110 hurdles, high jump).

In the girls competition, Reagan Pender (800, 1600) and Emily Moyer (long and high jumps) both won two events for Northern Lehigh. Kristen Guelcher added a first in the 100 hurdles.

Pleasant Vy.-Northampton

Julianna Lopez and Alexandra Bush had five goals apiece to lead Pleasant Valley to a 19-4 win over Northampton.

Haylee Stintsman added four goals for the Bears, Brielle McInaw and Meghan Hollenback both had two scores, while Julia DeYoung scored once.

The Bears improved to 8-2 on the season.
