The Northern Lehigh boys and girls basketball teams picked up victories on Monday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Northern Lehigh downed Lehighton 49-36 in a non-league contest.

Brandon Hess scored 14 points for the Bulldogs (7-5). Preston Kemery added 12.

Addison Howland posted a game-high 22 points for the Indians (3-8), including nine in the third quarter as the Tribe cut it to 35-28.

Jim Thorpe stayed unbeaten with a 50-23 Schuylkill League Division 1 win over Lehighton.

Olivia Smelas paced the Olympians (9-0) with 14 points, while Skyler Searfoss added 12.

Hailey Miller’s eight points led the Indians (6-5).

Emma Kuczynski recorded a double-double as Tamaqua topped Blue Mountain 51-37 in a Schuylkill League Division 1 game.

Kuczynski finished with 24 points and 15 boards for the Raiders (8-2). Emily Titus added 17 points.

Lindsay Kutz finished with 10 points for the Eagles (8-4).

Tamaqua also won the JV Game, 34-32.

Shenandoah edged Tamaqua, 26-23.

Cain McLaughlin had nine points for the Raiders.

Stephen Hood scored 24 points for the Panthers. Brad Hood chipped in with 12.
