Pleasant Valley picked up victories in field hockey and volleyball on Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Pleasant Vy.-Allen

Mattie Hyland had a hat trick to lead Pleasant Valley to a 4-1 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Allen.

Heather Todaro added a goal and an assist for the Bears (3-8).

Pleasant Valley had a 17-4 advantage in shots.

Carlee Davidson had the only goal for Allen (1-9).

Lehighton-Bangor

Bangor posted a 4-0 victory over Lehighton.

Reagan Heard had a pair of goals for Bangor, while Myliana Schippers and Kaylee Holland both scored once.

Bangor had a 18-11 edge in shots and a 6-4 advantage in corners.

Marissa Hill recorded the shutout for the Slaters, making 11 saves. Angelina Romito had 14 saves in goal for the Indians.

VOLLEYBALL

Pleasant Vy.-Whitehall

Pleasant Valley bounced back from an opening game loss to outlast Whitehall, 26-28, 25-16, 31-29, 25-23 in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference match.

Cameron Caffrey had a huge all-around performance for the Bears with 25 assists, 21 digs, eight kills, three aces and two blocks. PV got strong net play from Sara Frankunas (15 kills, two blocks), Lexi Burgos (14 kills), Andrea Crilley (nine kills) and Jackie James (eight kills). Defensively, the Bears were led Desi Beade (29 digs), Crilley (16 digs) and Tami Bobb-Duberry (10 digs). Ari Thourot contributed 15 assists.

The victory improves Pleasant Valley’s record to 7-2-2 overall and 6-2 in the EPC.

TENNIS

Emmaus-Pleasant Vy.

Emmaus posted a 6-1 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pleasant Valley.

In the completion of a match that was started on Aug. 28, the Bears sole win came from No. 1 singles player Riley Wagner.
