Both Tamaqua basketball teams stayed undefeated with victories over Shenandoah Valley on Tuesday.

The boys team improved to 4-0, while the girls are now 3-0.

In other action, the Northwestern boys and girls also posted wins, while Lehighton wrestling topped Northern Lehigh.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Tamaqua-Shenandoah Vy.

Tamaqua rolled by Shenandoah Valley in non-league action, 55-34.

Thad Zuber scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Blue Raiders. Luke Gregoire added 10 points, while Michael Bonetsky chipped in with eight.

For the Blue Devils, Tyler McCole finished with 10 points.

Tamaqua, now 4-0 on the season, also gained a 77-31 victory in the JV game.

Palisades-Northwestern

Northwestern used a balanced attack to claim a 62-40 Colonial League win over Palisades.

Samuel Yadush led the Tigers (2-1; 2-0) with 20 points, while Luke Hallman added 18.

Northwestern, which used a 31-14 second-half spread to pull away from the Pirates, also received 10 from Deven Bollinger.

Northwestern rolled to a 63-18 victory in the JV game.

Nazareth-Pleasant Valley

Nazareth erased an early deficit to rally past Pleasant Valley, 61-53, in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference play.

Jahan Dotson scored 15 points for the Blue Eagles, who outscored the Bears 28-17 in the second half. Maihan Ramin and Anthony Harris scored 10 points apiece.

Noah Neubert had 12 points for the Bears (2-1). Valentino Rosario and Andrius Harrison-Gaddist both added 10 points.

Wilson-Palmerton

Wilson defeated Palmerton in Colonial League action, 67-59.

The Blue Bombers exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter, but still came up on the short end.

Palmerton’s Nate Dougherty led all scorers with 22 points. Seth Young and Kody Kratzer each had nine.

The loss dropped Palmerton’s record to 1-2 overall, 0-1 in the league.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Shenandoah Vy.-Tamaqua

Tamaqua defeated Shenandoah Valley in a non-league game, 58-26.

Emma Kuczynski of Tamaqua led all scorers with 18 points. Teammate Emily Titus finished with 13, while Kirstin Jones contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Allison Wargo had 12 points for Shenandoah.

The win improved the Raiders to 3-0.

In the JV game, Tamaqua posted a 40-18 victory behind 17 points from Sophia Boyle and 10 from Baylee Reinhardt.

Wilson used a big second half to earn a 58-30 Colonial League win over Palmerton.

Gaby Vega and Ally Quinn each had 19 points for the Warriors, who outscored the Blue Bombers 30-5 over the final two quarters.

For Palmerton, which dropped to 0-3, Baylee Guedes scored a team-high 11 points, while Linnaea Leister added 10.

Northwestern posted a 44-23 win over Palisades in Colonial League action.

Leighanna Lister scored a team-high 14 points for the Tigers, who used a 15-4 third quarter to pull away from the Pirates.

Northwestern (2-1) also received eight points from Sage Christopher.

Talya Brugler poured in 27 points to pave the way for the Blue Eagles.

Masani Francis led Pleasant Valley (1-2) with 12 points, while Cameron Caffrey added seven.

Nazareth, which raced to a 20-1 first-quarter advantage, also won the JV game by a 57-34 score.
