Northwestern posted wins over Hamburg in both boys and girls basketball action on Wednesday.
In other action, the Palmerton boys downed Lehighton in the consolation game of the Slatington Rotary Tournament, while the Weatherly girls rolled past Schuylkill Haven.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Northwestern-Hamburg
Samuel Yadush scored a game-high 15 points to help Northwestern hold off Hamburg for a 50-41 non-league victory.
The Tigers, who opened up a double-digit lead with a 19-9 third quarter, also received 14 points from Deven Bollinger and 12 from Luke Hallman.
Reece Adam finished with 15 points for the Hawks.
With the win, Northwestern improves to 6-2.

Nate Dougherty poured in a game-high 26 points to power Palmerton to a 66-37 victory over Lehighton in the consolation game of the Slatington Rotary Tournament.
The Blue Bombers, who raced to an 18-6 first-quarter advantage, also received 17 points from Justin Hosier and 11 from Ryan Yacone.
Addison Howland scored a team-high eight points for the Indians (1-6).
Palmerton improved to 4-4 with the win.

Northwestern received scoring from 11 different players en route to a 67-17 non-league win over Hamburg.
Sage Christopher had 12 points to lead the Tigers, who led by a 24-0 score after the first quarter.
Northwestern (5-3) also received nine points from Leighanna Lister, and eight from Sydney Sevrain.

Four Mahanoy Area players scored in double figures as the Golden Bears cruised to a 66-25 victory over Panther Valley in the opening round of the Senator Rhoades Classic.
Abbey McGee led Mahanoy (7-1) with 14 points, while Megan Bisco tallied 12.
The Panthers (4-4) were paced by Rachelle Filer, who scored 11 points. Erika Dubosky finished with eight.

The Fillies trailed by just seven points after three frames, but Neesha Pierre hit for six points during the Beavers’ 21-8 final period.
Last year’s Class 1A state player of the year, Alexis Hill, led all scorers with 19 points, while Jasmine Turner added 14.
Marian’s Emma McClafferty finished with a team-high 15 points, and Emily Shaud chipped in with seven.
