Tamaqua gained a non-league victory over Northern Lehigh in girls soccer on Saturday.

In Schuylkill League boys soccer action, Jim Thorpe blanked Lehighton.

GIRLS SOCCER

Tamaqua-Northern Lehigh

Tamaqua edged Northern Lehigh in a non-league match, 3-2.

Emma Kuczynski scored twice for the Raiders and Jamie Zuber added another. Tamaqua also received an assist from Kirstin Jones.

For Northern Lehigh, Jillian Olewine scored both of her team’s goals. Olewine was honored before the contest for becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer.

Flo Rios made 17 saves for the Blue Raiders, while Bulldog keeper Annelise Lutz stopped 13 shots.

Salisbury-Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley and Salisbury played to a 0-0 non-league tie.

The Bears compiled 13 shots on goal, compared to just four by the Falcons, but couldn’t find the back of the net.

PV goalie Mikaela Miller had four saves.

The Bears also had a 7-2 advantage in corners.

FIELD HOCKEY

Wilson-Palmerton

Kailyn Kolnik scored three times to help Palmerton defeat Wilson in Colonial League action, 6-5.

Sayler Burke added a pair of goals, while Emily Baumgardt also scored for the Bombers.

Kolnik, Baumgardt, Burke, and Paige Frantz each added assists.

BOYS SOCCER

Lehighton-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe topped Lehighton in a Schuylkill League match, 3-0.

Alex Mierzejewski scored twice to pave the way for the Olympians. Ryder Wallace added another goal on a penalty kick.

Assists were recorded by Thor Huth, Chris Williams, Ethan Melber, and Wallace.

Olympian keeper Kingsley Ehling made eight saves to post the shutout.

Zach Andrews made 10 saves for the Indians.

Pottsville-Tamaqua

Pottsville blanked Tamaqua in Schuylkill League action, 5-0.

Luke Joyce scored three times to lead the Tide, while Collin Ebling and Victor Ortiz each added one.

Pottsville had a 14-8 advantage in shots, while the Raiders had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Tide also won the JV game, 3-0.

Minersville-Weatherly

Weatherly earned a 3-2 Schuylkill League win over Minersville.
