A look back: April 12, 1951
Harry Dubin, whose faith and foresight brought a major industry to Lansford 26 years ago, died Tuesday night in his home in San Francisco. He had been an executive and manager of Rosenau Brothers, garment manufacturers, for many years until retiring two years ago.
Dubin was beloved in this valley because of the fairness and initiative he displayed in his associations with hundreds of workers here. He came to Lansford in 1923 with an idea — an idea that girls of this valley were among the greatest needle workers in the world. He started a small plant with 20 machines and 25 people in Hall’s Hall on Patterson Street. Dubin has grown the firm to national and international distinction with now more than 500 personnel.
