A look back: April 12, 1971

In the interest of reducing costs, more efficient use of personnel and the streamlining of commercial operations, the Mantzville Business Office of the Mahoning Telephone Company will be closed effective May 3, company officials announced.

These activities will be transferred to the telephone building at Kempton, and customers can send their payments direct to Liverpool or they can make them in person at the Kempton office.

To ensure that subscribers will continue to receive the same quality service they always have, it has been arranged for them to continue to dial the same numbers they do now for the business office and for repair service. There will also be no change in present procedures for after hours or emergency service.
