A look back: April 24, 1959
The Carbon County Federation of Clubs honored Judge James C. McCready, president judge of the Carbon County Courts, at its 11th annual banquet in the Lansford Elks last evening.
Franklin B. Klock of Lansford, president of the federation, presented Judge McCready with a plaque in honor of his outstanding service to Carbon County.
More than 160 people attended the banquet. Speakers included District Attorney Carl Niehoff and Assemblyman John “Ike” Bonner. The toastmaster was R.D. Edwards, Lansford businessman. Sam Gabert of Lehighton, federation secretary, offered the invocation.
