The Carbon County commissioners yesterday approved an option agreement to lease new and larger quarters for Justice of the Peace Harry E. Heydt of Jim Thorpe.

Under the terms of the agreement, the county will pay $3,000 rent yearly during the five-year term of the lease.

The new quarters will cover the first floor area of the former liquor store building at 52 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, encompassing about 1,800 square feet of office space.

Heydt’s office is currently located in the courthouse annex, Jim Thorpe.

The building is owned by Robert and Janice Yale of Lehighton R.4.
