A look back: April 26, 1982

The Mayor’s Inaugural Ball, honoring Lansford Mayor Joseph C. Genits, was staged Saturday night in the Lansford AMVETS with about 150 people attending the affair.

Proceeds of the event, $1,200, were presented by the mayor to the Lansford Youth and Adult Commission to be used for programs for young people of the community.

The main address was given by Howard Heffelfinger, vice president of the Panther Valley Board of Education.

Members of the Ball planning committee included Joanne Protivnak, Carol Wehr, Fred Johnson, George Sabol, Michael Serina and John Stanko.
