A look back: April 30, 1962

Over 450 people were in attendance at the golden anniversary testimonial dinner honoring the Rev. Francis H. Pascoe, pastor of the First Congregational Church, Coaldale, yesterday afternoon at the Coaldale High School building.

Following dinner, William J. Jones, president of the board of trustees of the church, introduced the toastmaster, Walter Evans, a member of the board of deacons.

Mayor Joseph Sharpe gave the welcome while remarks were made by the Rev. Kenneth Ewing, minister of Baptist students at Purdue University. He is the son-in-law of the Rev. Pascoe and the Rev. Daniel Yolton, pastor of the English Congregational Church, Lansford.
