A look back: Aug. 14, 1967
A fireworks display concluded the 40th Annual St. Gabriel’s Day celebration last night in Summit Hill, sponsored by St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of the community.
In features of the day, Barbara Ann Mattie of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, reigned as queen for the traditional celebration and crowned the statue of St. Gabriel. Her court consisted of Natalie and Roberta Spezialetti, Domenica Santo and Diane Faenza.
Nancy O’Donnell, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William O’Donnell, made it three years in a row winning first place in the annual baby parade. Other prize winners were Rita Lynn, daughter of Cecilia Lynn, and Anna Lisella, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Lisella.
