Community support is growing for Kidder Township Police Chief Richard Lignore.
Last night, Deanna Kresge, a Lake Harmony resident, presented Supervisor Charles Getz a petition signed by 379 township residents asking that Lignore not be suspended.
Chief Lignore has come under fire from Getz and police committee chairman Al Klitsch after a Hazleton investigator found that Lignore intentionally altered an accident report involving his son. The chief faces possible suspension, dismissal and prosecution.
Lignore is on vacation and helping out at the state police academy this week at Camp Daddy Allen at Hickory Run State Park.
