A look back: Dec. 11, 1969
The 130th anniversary of Jacob’s United Church of Christ, Weissport, will be observed on Sunday when the Rev. Paul M. Eberts, pastor of Christ United Church of Christ, Elizabethtown, and a ministerial son of Jacob’s, will be the guest speaker.
The Rev. George Bickel, pastor, will serve as the liturgist.
The church was dedicated on Christmas Day 1839. A Christian Education addition was dedicated on May 1, 1966. The church withstood the floods of 1841 and 1862 and at least three floods this century.
Jacob’s is yoked with Christ United Church of Christ, Walnutport, as part of a two-church charge.
