A look back: Dec. 26, 1963
Judge Albert H. Heimbach today administered the oath of office to newly elected officials in the new Borough of Nesquehoning in the main courtroom of the Courthouse in Jim Thorpe.
Heading the list of men who were elected to public office in the Nov. 5 general election was James Fauzio, who has the honor of being the first mayor of the new borough, formerly known as Mauch Chunk Township.
Other elected officers called to recite their oaths included councilmen Vernon Corby, Hugo Diehl, James Kishbaugh, William Kissner, Angelo Malaska, Jerome Citrano, John Evanko and John Sniscak; school directors Joseph Macaluso and William Starosta; and tax collector Andrew Stockmal.
