A look back: Dec. 26, 1963
The Carbon County Commissioners today filled two vacancies on the Carbon County Planning Commission, naming Samuel “Tim” Kelly, Summit Hill, and Luther Getz, Albrightsville, to the board during a meeting of the three-man board held at the Court House in Jim Thorpe.
They will succeed K.P. Bahjejian, of Lansford, and Warren Creitz, of Aquashicola, both of whom resigned.
Kelly is the assistant manager of the Quartite Company plant in the Hauto Valley while Getz is well-known locally, having been a former State Highways Department foreman.
The appointments were made by commissioners Dr. James J. Dougherty, Ralph E. Mooney and Thomas A. Zimmerman.
