A look back: Dec. 4, 1997

Students from the Lehighton Area Middle School danced at the school’s seventh annual dance marathon to benefit Dream Come True.

Nearly 160 students participated, according to John J. Lopata, adviser to the middle school student council, who said he anticipated donations/pledges, once received, will surpass last year’s total of $4,250.

Lopata gave credit for this year’s marathon to the student council officers who headed the event, including Katie Grant, president; Megan Fredericks, vice president; Angela Rothermal, secretary; Timothy Maher, treasurer; and Noah Reed, school store operator.
