A look back: Dec. 7, 1961

The Carbon County Tavern Association held a reorganizational meeting yesterday in the Lansford Hotel and re-elected George Mandour of Lehighton as its president.

Others elected to office are Madge Strohm of Mahoning Valley, first vice president; Thomas Walck of Lehighton, second vice president; John Kracum of Lansford, financial secretary; Emma Herman of Jim Thorpe, recording secretary; John Strauss of Lansford, treasurer; and Eugene Durigan of Mahoning Valley, public relations officer.

Mandour and Durigan were named to represent the association at the state conference. Strohm and Walck will serve as their alternates.
