A look back: December 19, 1975

The Carbon County Commissioners have announced the appointment of attorney John F. Gibbons, 296 Harvard Ave., Palmerton, as assistant public attorney for the county.

He succeeds to the vacancy created when attorney Richard Webb, Palmerton, was elected on Nov. 4 to the post of district attorney.

The appointment follows the recommendation of attorney Thomas McCready of Summit Hill, who heads the office. He asked the commissioners to act immediately because of the heavy caseload of criminal cases in the court.

Gibbons, who maintains his law office in Lehighton, will be paid $5,300 a year.
