A look back: December 2, 1962
State Selective Service Headquarters disclosed today both induction and pre-induction physical examination calls in Carbon County for December will involve a total of three youths from the county.
On the induction side, two countians are scheduled to be drafted this month. The third countian is slated to be given a pre-induction physical examination.
The three registrants will come from local board 43, Jim Thorpe, and report to the Wilkes-Barre Recruiting Main Station on Dec. 11.
A recap of 1962 insofar as Carbon County is concerned shows 34 county youths were scheduled for draft induction during the 12-month period.
