A look back: December 26, 1967
The unexpired term of the late Victor Leonzi, a Democrat from Summit Hill, will be filled by his Republican opponent, Anthony Vasiliou, following his election at a meeting of the Panther Valley School Board in Lansford.
Two directors, Paul Shears and Joseph Fiorentino, cast their ballots for Mary Leonzi, widow of Leonzi. Votes for Vasiliou were cast by Russell Anstead, Robert Stianche, John Mongi, John Terray, William Knepper and William Whildin.
In other business, Stianche was elected president and the board received applications for the vacant head football coach position from Vincent Spisak and James Steber. The post has been vacant since the resignation of Joseph Pilconis.
