A look back: December 5, 1959

At the annual election of officers last night in the Marion Hose Company, Carlos Nonnemacher was re-elected president. Steve Fedorcha was the only other nominee.

Others named to positions at that time were George Hull, vice president; Robert Kissner, secretary; Harold Queen, treasurer; William Rhodes, trustee, three years; Harry Pry, foreman of the hose; Fedorcha, foreman of the booster engine; Roland Edwards, captain; and Burt Whitehead, lieutenant.

The firefighters announced plans to hold their annual children’s Christmas party at the hose house, where Santa will make his appearance and distribute gifts to the children.
