A look back: Jan. 3, 1984
Carbon County’s newly elected officials came together Monday during a formal installation ceremony conducted by Judge John P. Lavelle in Jim Thorpe.
He administered the oaths of office to commissioners Albert U. Koch, Charles E. Wildoner and Dean D.W. DeLong, the latter having succeeded John W. “Bud” Angst, who retired.
Others seated in office included District Attorney Richard Webb, Sheriff Peter Hoherchak, Controller John Williams, Recorder of Deeds James Walker, Prothonotary Joseph Modrick and Coroner Robert Deibert.
First deputy treasurer Mark Sverchek was seated as acting treasurer until a successor to DeLong, who held that position, is named.
