A look back: January 4, 1954

Guy Gerhard of Lehighton, formerly of Weatherly, was appointed by Judge James C. McCready today to serve as foreman of the January term grand jury to act on bills of indictment prepared by District Attorney Carl E. Niehoff.

Twenty-one bills are calendared for disposition, including a case against Warren Kreitz of Palmerton, and John Klinkosky of Beaver Meadows, charged with libel by Stephen Butcher Jr. of Lansford, in a State Game Commission officer controversy in this county.

Local residents on the jury are Flo H. Bleckley, Anne E. Davis, Mauch Chunk; Margaret Donagan Jacobs, Hauto; and Beatrice Parano, Nesquehoning.
