The burial tribute due a soldier who died with honor was accorded the late Staff Sgt. William Hoben as funeral services were conducted yesterday in Coaldale.
Son of William Hoben of that town, Sgt. Hoben was killed as his plane crashed in Africa during the war. Comrades of the serviceman were pallbearers and made up the color guard, color bearer and firing squad.
Walter Evans, commander of the Gewehr-Shubeck American Legion Post, and Frank Rajnic, commander of the Stembrosky-Katchak VFW Post, were in charge of the military ritual in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bloomingdale, following a Mass of Requiem in St. Mary’s Church, Coaldale.
