The second phase of the Locust Lake State Park project was dedicated on Saturday.

Included in phase two of the lake area project are 69 new campsites, a swimming beach, boat rental facilities, maintenance areas, camp store, a 75-car parking area, wash houses and an extension of the water and sanitary systems, all built at a cost of $1,018,000.

State and county officials were on hand for the informal ceremonies, including Secretary of Environmental Resources Maurice Goddard, who said the expanded facilities represent another effort on the part of the Bureau of State Parks and DER to fulfill the needs of an increased interest in camping.
