A look back: June 9, 1967
Jim Thorpe Borough Council last night appointed Vincent L. Miller, 724 North St., to membership on the borough’s planning commission, succeeding to the vacancy created by the recent resignation of John R. Lennon, 60 E. Third St.
One other vacancy remains to be filled, that of Leonard Bennick, 241 Center Ave., who resigned last night in a letter to borough Manager Walter Niehoff. He will receive a letter of thanks from the borough for his service, having been the board chairman since its inception. His term expired in 1965 but he continued to serve in the absence of an appointment.
J. Leonard Houser is the new chairman of the board.
