A look back: March 10, 1975
More than 200 people attended a testimonial dinner honoring the Rev. Byron R. Stauffer, retired pastor of the Weatherly Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, on Saturday afternoon in the middle school.
Stauffer has served more than two congregations of service to God and mankind. He completed his active ministry on Dec. 31, 1974.
A native of Ringtown, he was hailed by the Rev. Donald Stump, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ and St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Weatherly, and the Rev. Fred S. Blank, assistant to the president of the Northeastern PA Synod, Lutheran Church in America.
