The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new doctor to set up practice at the medical building in Hometown, formerly the Prudential Insurance Building, just off Route 309 north of Route 54.

Florante G. Bautista, M.D. an urologist, has opened the building. He is a graduate of the Manila Central University Medical School.

A resident of Lake Hauto, Dr. Bautista interned at the Elizabeth General Hospital in New Jersey, obtained his residency in surgery at the Jewish Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, and completed his residency at the V.A. Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
