A look back: March 14, 1974
Frank E. Wehr of Summit Hill was officially named administrator of the Coaldale State General Hospital after having been the acting administrator there for the past 18 months.
Wehr is the former Carbon County Clerk of Courts who went to the hospital in May 1972, as its purchasing agent, and one month later was appointed its acting administrator.
Prior to his county election, Wehr served as president of the County Consumer Discount Co., Lehighton, and later became secretary of the Carbon County Realty Corporation.
He served in the Army as a combat infantryman in the 1st Cavalry Division during the Korean War and is the recipient of five battle stars.
