A look back: March 20, 1956
Bruce Frassinelli, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Frassinelli of Summit Hill, and Margaret Malatak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Malatak of Coalport, won first-place honors in the 29th Annual Panther Valley Oratorical Contest held last evening in the Coaldale High School.
Frassinelli, a Summit Hill High School student, used “Teen-Age Prayer” as his oration while Miss Malatak, a Nesquehoning High School student, spoke on “Do Unto Others.” They received trophies from Wilbur Burger, Coaldale High School principal.
Other contestants were Frederick West, Coaldale; Mary Ann Guardiana, Summit Hill; Patricia Rickert and Stroud Connor, both of Lansford; and Alfred Kenlin, Nesquehoning.
