The borough of Coaldale, in compliance with regulations of the Federal Housing Administration, is in the process of enforcing is Housing Code. It is the only community in the immediate area with such a code.
The community’s building inspector, John Davis, who is doing the work on a voluntary basis, is authorized under the code to enter a premises and be granted free access to properties of residents.
The visit will include an inspection of the entire building, both external and internal. Refusal of admittance will result in a $100 fine or 90 days in jail under rules enforced by the federal government.
