A look back: March 29, 1965

The newly formed teachers association of the Panther Valley Joint School System elected officers Friday during an in-service program held in Lansford.

Elected to office were Jerry Baker of Summit Hill, president; Alberta Ohl of Summit Hill, secretary; and Robert Thear of Nesquehoning, treasurer.

Named as teacher representatives of the four buildings composing the jointure were: Frank Piscelli, Lansford; Mrs. Norman Tippett, Coaldale; Francis Boyle, Summit Hill; and Virginia Jones, Nesquehoning.

James Bell, enrollment representative of Blue Cross Hospital Services, Wilkes-Barre, spoke to the group on the medical plan for teachers.
