A look back: March 29, 1985

The Salem Bible Fellowship Church, Lehighton R. 1, recently welcomed a new pastor, the Rev. Mark Solt.

Born in 1958 in Costa Rica, Central America, he is a son of Dr. David and Georgina Solt, who are missionaries now serving in Mexico.

Solt studied for two years at the Philadelphia College of the Bible, before undertaking missionary work in Mexico, Columbia and Europe and then completing his studies at Wheaton College in Illinois. He then attended the Dallas Theological Seminary, Texas, and was ordained on March 1, 1983, at the Scofield Memorial Church in Dallas.

He and his wife, Colleen, became the parents of their first child, a daughter, Karissa Colleen, on March 21.
