A look back: March 6, 1984

The Rev. J. William Wartluft has returned to Lansford again to serve as pastor of Emmanuel Church of Christ. His duties began Sunday with a service at 9:30 a.m.

Pastor Wartluft is married to the former Ruth R. Dukes. They are the parents of two daughters, Carol and Myra, both of whom are living in Maine, and also have four grandchildren.

Wartluft is a graduate Wernersville High School, Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, the University of Maine and the Bangor Theological Seminary in Maine. He also attended Lafayette College in Easton.

He has served churches in Carmel, Maine; Pine Grove, Leck Kill and Klingerstown, all in Pennsylvania; and Bellaire, Ohio.
