A look back: May 1, 1964

Mrs. Emma Cooper, 29 E. Amidon St., Summit Hill, received notification yesterday that two of her sons were promoted by the Pennsylvania State Police on the same day.

William B. Cooper, who has been stationed at the Blakeslee barracks for the past 22 years, has been promoted from lieutenant to captain. He is married to the former Kathryn Rehrig of Jim Thorpe. They are the parents of a son, Bennett.

Quentin H. Cooper, presently stationed in Harrisburg, was promoted to the rank of corporal on the same day as his brother’s promotion.

Mrs. Cooper has another son, Warren, serving with the state police. He too is a corporal.
