A look back: May 13, 1970
Ten interested parents and citizens and four members of the Summit Hill Youth Week program showed up for a meeting of the Summit Hill Offers Recreation Enjoyment (SHORE) organization last night in the borough hall. Perry Shelton, president, chaired the session when plans were discussed about the possibility of installing tennis and basketball courts in the Ginter Stadium.
Joining him at the meeting were Joe “Buck” O’Donnell, Bushy McCullion, Bill Black, Elnora Vasiliou, Judy Kutz, Patricia Iezzoni, Jo Hellmund, Edith Kulick and Tom Wehr, as well as Youth Week members Joey Vermillion, Bob Sipko, Rose Derau and Karen Whitehead.
