A look back: May 7, 2001
Friday was “Mrs. Martino Day” at St. Joseph’s Regional Academy in Jim Thorpe, as students, teachers and administrators celebrated the 25th anniversary of service of third-grade teacher Patricia Martino.
The day’s events were a complete surprise to Martino, who began her teaching career at the school in 1976. To the best of everyone’s knowledge, she has taught at the school longer than anyone else.
A daughter of Marian O’Donnell of Summit Hill and the late Lawrence O’Donnell, she is the wife of John Martino and the mother of three, John, Maria and Patrick.
She was the guest of honor at a dinner held in the evening at Nardini’s Banquet Hall, Nesquehoning.
